“Амурският, още Далекоизточен или Манджурски леопард е хищен бозайник, подвид на леопарда, един от най-редките представители на семейство Коткови с около 40 екземпляра в дивата природа. Местообитанието му е в планински райони на тайгата и гори в умерения климатичен пояс в Далечния изток близо до брега на Японско море в граничен район, където се срещат три държави – Русия, Китай и Северна Корея. Ареалът на амурския леопард е най-северно разположеният от другите леопарди. В началото на XX век, се е простирал върху обширни райони от четири съвременни държави, но днес е сведен до съвсем малък участък с площ, приблизително два пъти по-голяма от Люксембург или колкото една средноголяма административна област в България.
