Съществува и друго обяснение на името - наречено е така от гръцкото газа = богат, заради богатството на цветове в съцветието му. В Германия наричат цветето Sonnentaler или Mittagsgold, защото съцветията му се отварят около обяд и то само в слънчеви дни.
